Privacy Policy

Everyone with an account:

• Your name, email address and phone number, given at sign-up.
• Whether your email and phone have been verified.
• The locations you add, including the address and its map coordinates.

Candidates additionally:

• Your professional title, summary, skills, years of experience and highest qualification.
• Your CV file, and the text extracted from it so we can match you to jobs.
• Your work history and education, if you add them.
• What you are looking for: job categories, roles, county, employment types, salary expectations, and whether you are open to remote work.
• Whether you are actively looking, open to offers, or not looking.
• Your applications, saved jobs, job alerts, nudges and messages.

Employers additionally: your company details, verification documents, job postings, and credit and payment history.

Your name, email address and phone number are masked in employer search. An employer only sees them after spending a credit to unlock your contact details, or when you apply to their job. When you apply, the employer sees the profile snapshot shown to you before you confirm the application.

We record which pages are visited and how long is spent on each, to understand which parts of the site are useful. Where you are signed in, that measurement is linked to your account so we can tell candidate use apart from employer use.

Only foreground time is counted, individual page views are discarded after 90 days, and we do not record what you type or where you click within a page.

We score how well a candidate matches a job. Most of that scoring happens on our own servers using the information you have given us, with no third party involved.

Two features send data to AI providers. Job descriptions for listings taken from external job boards are written by an AI model from the listing's own details — no candidate data is involved. Separately, an employer can ask for an AI assessment of an applicant, which sends that candidate's title, skills, experience, qualification, summary and an extract of their CV text to the AI provider. Your name, email address and phone number are never included.

These scores rank and suggest. They do not decide anything on their own — a person decides who to contact and who to hire.

We use the following providers to run the service:

• Amazon Web Services — account sign-in, and storage of CVs and uploaded documents (EU region).
• Anthropic — AI assessment of applicants, when an employer requests it.
• Ollama — AI-written descriptions for listings sourced from external job boards.
• Stripe — payments. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Twilio — SMS verification codes.
• Zoho Mail — sending email.
• Google — advertising measurement on our public pages.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with employers beyond what is described above.

• Account and profile data: until you delete your account.
• Page-usage records: 90 days.
• Applications and messages: until you delete your account.

Deleting your account removes your profile, CV, applications, saved jobs, alerts, notifications, messages and chats.

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, receive it in a portable format, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. You can delete your account yourself in your settings, or email support@initialconnect.ie.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

We may update this policy as the service changes — for example if we add a feature, or begin using a new provider. The date at the top always shows when it was last revised, and the version published here is the one that applies.

Where a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will tell you before it takes effect, by email or a notice on the site, so you have the chance to review it or close your account. Continuing to use JobsConnect after a change takes effect means the updated policy applies to you.
